News Release

Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame

It was a great evening being with team mates from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, South Dakota, Quebec and of course Manitoba, most of whom hadn't seen each other in years and in many cases decades. We celebrated with those who were in attendance, remembered those who couldn't be there and toasted those who had passed away. Way to go RAMS.

It was great seeing so many people associated with the 1963 Dominion Champion St. James Rams Football team at the luncheon held yesterday. Unfortunately 20 of our players, coaches, trainers, equipmen t managers and executive have passed on, however most will be represented at the Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday, April 28. Enclosed is a picture of that team.

Manitoba Football Hall of Fame

Just recieved news that the 1963 Canadian Senior Football Champion St. James Rams, of which I was the defensive captain of, is going to be inducted into the Manitoba Football Hall of Fame on April 28, here in Winnipeg. A great honour because I always believed that that team was one of the best amateur football teams of all times. Some guys on that team had been up to the pros, some were still trying to make it, some dreamed the dream----but the one thing we all had in common was that we practiced and played because we loved to play the game.
